Water Ark
Descripción
It was one of the most abundant in the city and was used for domestic service, also serving as a watering place for livestock. In the 1650s, several years of severe drought occurred, which were used for successive repairs in the city's fountains, aqueducts, wells, and mines. It was built in a classicist style with stone, and its front is decorated with four pilasters. Only the central spout remains. It is topped with an entablature, and centered on it is the coat of arms of Baeza, crowned and bordered by two volutes. In front of it is the Monument to Commander Don Pablo Arredondo Acuña, a monolith tribute to the commander, twice awarded with the Cross of San Fernando. It was erected on January 19, 1927. On this walk, you will find the Hermitage of San Cristóbal, built in 1991 to shelter the image of the Saint.
