Hotel Palacio de los Salcedo ****

Description

In the central and commercial street of San Pablo, we find the Palacio de los Salcedo (or Salcedos’ Palace), unchanged from the 16th century. The main façade, with three bodies, combines the Gothic style and the style of the first classical Renaissance of the Baeza of the time. The pointy balconies and the coats of arms of the Salcedo and Ponce de Leon family stand out, along with other heraldic ornamentation and the gargoyles of the cornice. The harmonious transition courtyard impresses the visitor, with its two arcades and a third floor added in the 20th century. The building is currently used as a hotel but conserves all its primitive typology.
