Casa de Los Acuña
Description
Baeza is a city rich in ancestral homes which belonged to notable people. Calle San Pablo and its surroundings are particularly notable for this type of building, where we find the Mannerist-style Casa de Los Acuña, built at the end of the 16th century by Fernando de Acuña y Valenzuela and his wife Juana de León Navarrete. Each of these houses is a monument in its own right, which is evident simply by looking at the façades. The Acuña family’s house has a semicircular arch that embraces the door and a lustrous window located just above it. The cross of Calatrava is in the centre, with the coats of arms of the Acuña and Cerón families on each side.
